    Review by Joshua B.

      Top Rated 5 Stars

I’ve used the X-50 in my home studio for a couple of years now. This keyboard has the same engine as the top-of-the-line Korg Tritons so the sounds are incredible. Although lacking in heft, it is well constructed and solid. The voices are amazing. The strings, piano and organ sections are particularly strong. I use it in my studio to back up my guitar, since I’m not a pianist. It’s exceedingly portable so it’s great for gigs too. Buying the X-50 is really a great deal…you get thousands of dollars worth of voices for a lot less money.

    Our conclusion:
Good things sometimes come in small packages. Compact and versatile, the Korg X-50 is a fine keyboard instrument for students and professionals alike. The X-50 is both a synthesizer and plug in, can fit into the smallest home studio or limitied work space, and weighs under 10 pounds, so it is very mobile and perfect for playing gigs. It will give you great value for it’s price.

For those of you looking for a keyboard that’s a step above the X-50, you should consider the Korg M-50. It carries the same Korg quality and craftsmanship, including the same Hyper Integrated sound engine. Plus it’s keys have a more realistic feel, it has more sounds, more effects, more drum kits, 120 voice polyphony, and a 16 track on-board sequencer.

We’ll be writing a review of the M-50 in the near future. If you don’t want to wait, you may click her now to preview the Korg M-50 at Amazon.
